Here is a tuxedo I've had in my closet for a while thinking I'd have it tailored to fit me. But I found another one in the mean time that was already a good fit on me.

I'd like $280 shipped to CONUS, OBO

So here are the details and measurements: one button, peaked lapel, Brioni tuxedo. Coat is unvented, lapels have satin facing, lapel has a boutonniere thread, and sleeves have 3 working buttonholes and one fake buttonhole (important to know if you need to lengthen the sleeve). Pants have single reverse pleats and a wide satin waist band which is nice because there's really no need for a cummerbund here. Satin stripe on the side and buttons in the waistband for braces.

Measurements:
* Coat: shoulders (across, flat)=20 1/4, chest (right under arms)=23 1/2, waist (right above button)=22, length (from collar bottom)=30 1/4, sleeve=23 1/2 (+ it looks like 1 1/2" folded inside so can probably be let out 1")
* Pants: waist=19, outseam=40 1/2, inseam=29 1/2 with 3 3/4" of fabric in the hem, leg opening=9 3/8

I was asked via PM how the sleeves could be let out if there are working buttonholes. Here is my take (and a tailor can correct me if I'm wrong):
(1) only 3 of the buttonholes are working so a tailor can easily let a bit of fabric out and re-position the highest button (fake) at the bottom of the sleeve (in a new fake or working buttonhole). My estimate is that 1" is the maximum that can be done this way
(2) a decent tailor can let out at the sleevehead. No idea how much can be done this way as I don't really have a feel of the amount of fabric left at the sleevehead

I have no idea. I personally have never worn it. It has no stain (inside or outside), no rips, no shiny parts and the hem of the pants show no abrasion so I'd think it has been worn very seldom. Besom pockets are not sewn so it has been worn.

Bump and reduced to $280. It sucks to lose money on an item I never even had the chance to wear but... I'd like to move it to someone who has use for it

For those who looked and don't want to buy - can you give me feedback on what is wrong with this FS offer. Is $300 too much for a mint Brioni tux? Is it the size? I'm truly curious - I thought this would be gone in 60 seconds...

Hi. in response to your question, I was tempted. I do a 42R on most American and a 43R on many euro suits. The stumbling block for me are the trousers. As I read the measurements, it is 38" waist and a 29.5" inseam. I tend to be more a 34/32. I am concern about recutting the trousers and not having enough length on the inseam. Otherwise, it seems a wonderful deal, just not for me.

I'd be very tempted, but I usually wear a 44 or 46, depending on the cut. (Usually 46.) So it's just too darned small.

Given that 42 is a pretty common size, I bet most folks on here already own a tux.

I would have already pulled the trigger if the shoulder were 19" or 19.5".

Thanks for the feedback guys.

marc237 - I'm pretty sure inseam wouldn't be a problem at all (lots of fabric to let out) but the waist surely would (I can't imagine a tailor taking 38 to 34...)

Thanks, sorry I read there as being 3/4 inches to let out. That was my blindness.

Is it me or is 20.5 really big for the shoulders on a 43 R?

Don't think so... I'll check the measurement again tonight but in my experience, depending on the shape of the shoulders, a EU 53/54 shoulders would be in the 19.5 - 20.5 range

Example

yep - a combination of the above:

19" shoulders and a bit less in the pant waist. The price seems great - its just a crap shoot finding someone that needs/wants a tux and is the correct size.

So I measured again, and if I don't stretch it at all, it looks like 20 1/4" maybe rather than 20 1/2"
