Brioni Shirt - Shrink After First Wash?!

So I just got a nice shirt. I think I will have it dry cleaned. Can I wash it in the washer?

How much will it shrink? It is pretty perfect fitting now. The collar is just about perfect - looks great (although a bit tight for me). Now I am a bit concerned it might shrink?

If it's 100% cotton, you should not have it dry cleaned. Yes, you can wash it in the machine on the delicate cycle (and may want to go so far as to use a mesh garment protection bag when doing so). Do not put it in the dryer. Hang dry until slightly damp, then iron.

Alternatively, take it to the cleaners to be laundered, not dry cleaned.

It may shrink very slightly after a few washings, but probably not significantly.

Very small amount of shrinkage? More concerned about the neck shrinking. Think I should wear a undershirt to help the life of the shirt?

CVS clothing tape was all the rage a short while back. Ever since some online article posted about using them to extend the life if your shirt.

Spoo even used it as his avatar for awhile.
