I'll keep it short: I'm headed to a business casual firm this summer; looking for something clean, professional, fairly minimal. I do like the look of the fancy-pants lawyer bags like Frank Clegg or Lotuff but (a) it's a bit outside my budget and (b) I feel like the full-on "lawyer bag" might be a bit much for someone just starting out. I'm looking to spend under $500; I have browsed quite a bit and narrowed it down to a few top choices. Thoughts on a canvas bag like the Filson 256 for everyday use? I'll mostly be wearing slacks, button-down, no tie; figure I'll be in a suit every now and again. Is the Filson too casual to wear with a suit? Maybe the 256 in black? The other one I'm considering is the Linjer Soft Briefcase in black or mocha. Generally just looking for guidance on what's appropriate in terms of formality, but recommendations on color choice or other products are welcome as well. Thanks!
