^^ That is all kinds of awesome. Never seen anything in Walrus before... what's the premium on that skin?

Thanks! Not sure the "real" premium, but Ferre being a top Italian brand, they probably mark it up considerably because of the name (like you'd expect with Prada, Gucci, valentino, etc.). That being said, it's definitely in the exotic territory, less than crocodile but as much, or slightly more, than ostrich. That season, they made this pilot case/brief/48h bag, and then also a suitcase, in this hide. AFAIK, it was only sold at the Ferre flagship in Milan, as I didn't see it in the US Ferre stores that season.

Luckily, I got it VERY reasonably priced from a boutique buyer in Kyoto who visits Europe twice yearly for the shows and pics up random unique pieces, but the original retail was around 15,000 euro, and the suitcase was around 18,000.

For comparison, the croc bags and briefcases from Ferre (or from Gucci/valentino/prada/etc.) generally run 25,000 euros+. Ferre mainline Calf briefcases and bags are in the 1900-3200 euros, depending on treatment and style. They also sometimes make elephant, seal, shark, and hippo bags as seasonal one-time or specialty pieces.

Interesting info thanks :) 15,000 Euros. That's is absolutely bonkers.

Agreed.

As bonkers as it sounds, the past 3-4 years for major brands has seen some absolutely insane exotic items/prices. LV was famous for an ostrich backpack it put out in its men's collection a year or two back... I think it was $45,000. Chanel did a croc tote that was over $50k.

It's no wonder these things end up going to buyers or to VIPs probably as gifts, or just sit on the shelf until they get sent to the outlet for 90%off (of course, LV and Chanel don't go on sale!) . I don't know where my guy got this one, whether purchased outright or as a gift, but he must have not paid much, given what he sold it to me for.

In any case, it's a fun item that I'll see if I can't get some use from, somehow. The hide in person is very nice; it's quite sturdy, but not too "rugged" or thick. Nevertheless, it's quite strong and looks like it could take a shotgun blast at close range.

Not sure if this belongs here but does anyone have insight into this Gladstone bag?

Not sure of this can be counted as a representative picture (doesn't look 'real' to me), but here it is anyway.

My First LV and a 'Custom' Card Holder from my recent Hong Kong adventure...
My wife had a couple of pieces made in Stingray and Yellow Calf, which turned out amazing. When she unpacks I will take some pics..

I read the subject as "Bespoke Appreciation thread". For a very brief moment, I thought it would be a long discussion between SF ballers on how to procure studs and fillies and enlist the necessary talents to record stylish orgies in both sartorial and naked splendor.

Understandably, I was underwhelmed by the actual thread. Still lots of sexy skin, though.

I sport a Saddleback myself, which is too unrefined to be sexy, let alone pornographic.
