Looking for a casual leather briefcase. I already have a billykirk canvas/leather carryall and looking for something cleaner, slimmer, more seamless. Really liking this brown one but the logo bothers me:

    can someone recommend something similar?

why not many people use the hard leather attache cases anymore?
it seems everyone now no matter what industry use the briefcase with soft leather.

I'm deciding between a hartmann hard case and a soft customhide. The hard one just seems impractical for carrying a laptop since it's one big pocket, whereas most soft ones are divided into 2 or 3 sections for laptop, papers, books..

Also, attache cases rarely have shoulder straps, which I need since I travel around town on my bike.

I haven't seen someone with a hard case briefcase years. I still see them in stores, but not in use by someone.

    Any thoughts on this?

Don't go with Mulberry. I bought a briefcase by them several years ago and the quality is just terrible for the price. The handles and strap have broken a few times, and I have had to get Mulberry to replace them. They tried to charge me for this each time, and it took a little tirade about quality to stop them. Finally, the lock on it, very similar to yours, just fell off. I can't be bothered with it anymore at all.

Yeah, once I noticed that I gave up on that bag.
I think I'll get another customhide scholar, with the rings to turn it into a backpack too this time.

interesting. Thanks for the warning. Does anyone know who Mulberry contracted to make their bags for them?

This is simply amazingly beautiful, could you tell me which mulberry walter bag it is? (I must have it) Is it the the "Oak Natural Leather" one?

Very nice patina. I assume you don't use the buckles much. How do the quick release tabs hold up if you use the handle to carry heavy load?
