Man, that is beautiful. It will look amazing and serve you well for the rest of your life, so I guess that makes it a value, in the long run.

sure it can, I do it all the time, but don't believe me, believe one of the best travel writers in the country who travels thousands of miles a year with his two Glaser bags -- click here for the story

mine is the 6" deal bag which means it's 6 inches wide but Myron makes a 5" which is smaller and shorter and easier to travel with

if you click the link you can see that it's more narrow and not as long as mine

for the avg person, the 5" is just perfect (I wanted the larger size to hold notebook computers with larger screens that are coming in the future)

17x12x5" would indeed be perfect for a briefcase, but wouldn't it be a bit confining for travels? Or do you mean "perfect" strictly as a carry-on as opposed to the main baggage?

I'm having a little trouble picturing exactly how large these bags are (in relation to my own body size, that is). One reason is that they look so tall in the photos, though 17x12" is the same dimension as the Filson satchel. From their appearance I would have guessed that their breadth and height were about the same. Maybe it's just the angle of the photos, but that's how they look to me.

Another reason is that the deal bags and the litigation bags, which differ considerably in cubic capacity, are almost identical in proportion, so that it's hard to picture in one's head how bigger/smaller they would be in relation to each other. Mr. Glaser offers 5 different dimensions of deal/transaction/litigation bags on his website, but at a glance I got the impression that they were all same bags with different hues and textures. For those who can't visit the shop and see the goods for themselves, I would suggest to the Glasers that they offer front & side views of the similarly-designed bags standing next to one another for easier size comparison. It would be better still if a person was featured in the photo as well.

In fact, when you post more pics of your new bag, why not photograph yourself (below the neck, if you like) with it?

The first consideration in choosing a bag is its size; a bag too large for one's height can really affect the appearance of the entire person. I think every bag advertisement ought to feature an image of a person actually carrying the thing. The dimension figures alone just don't convey enough. I was going to buy a 25"-long Filson duffle bag, until I ran across a pic of it slung from a manequin's shoulders. The manequin looked like it could go inside the bag! I changed my mind about the purchase.

Isn't this the neatest thing? $158 (used to be almost 300) new from Levenger. Are Levenger leather goods reliable, I wonder? I'm tempted to get it...

How would you fit that on a horse? It was designed for the human shoulder...

This looks interesting, but I'm not sure I like it. A big drawback is the placement on the shoulder. Even though it's designed to be worn over the shoulder, I'd be concerned that it would cause excessive wear to my clothing.

Gefinizi, I saw that you picked up a vintage Brooks Brothers suitcase on Ebay the other day (I was hoping to get it at a lower price on the relist but I still think you got a good deal [IMG] ) You should post pics of it here if you get a chance.

Does anyone have information on a Spanish briefcase company named 'Briq'? I came across a NOS simple briefcase made in Spain by a company named Briq. I've never heard of it, and it doesn't appear on SF after a search, and there's nothing on google. This is definitely a vintage item. Thanks for any info.
