Briefcase: Henry Tomkins Essential vs. Meermin

I'm interested in a new bag for daily use. I've narrowed down to the two bags below. I like the push buttons under the Meermin bag, however it has only one compartment. The HT is a more traditional look.

Price being equal, which would you suggest?

Sorry for jumping topic, but have you considered offerings from Mulberry? However,of these 2 options (not having owned either), purely on style I have a slight preference towards the Meermin, though I would feel equally proud of either

Thanks MrMonkey - indeed I have considered the Mulberry offerings.

They are nice, however, I would like to stay around the $500 range as this will be my daily bag (being dragged through the subway etc).

I'm very pleased with my HT Briefcase Lite. It has held up very well in the bang and crash of daily commuting. Where is the Meermin briefcase made - Spain or China?
