I'm trying to decide between two briefcases and would appreciate feedback from other members. They're pictured below. I love the clasp on the lighter brief, the fact that the leather is softer, and that I wouldn't have to always secure the straps--plus my shoes are usually more tan than chocolate. I like the chocolate one, however, because it looks really vintage, is really unique, and, Because of the darker color, seems more formal, which is very important to me. So which one do you all prefer? Which seems nicer? Which seems more formal? Thanks for the feedback![IMG]

Do you need to carry a computer or anything on the heavier side? If yes, then I would go with the dark brown. I just wouldn't trust too much weight to a single clasp. The straps may be a little annoying, but at least I'd piece of mind.

Thanks, but they both serve my needs. I'm just looking for aesthetic responses. If they were both equal in functionality, which would look classier? Why? Thank you.

Light brown is a classier look in my opinion. Softer leather (as you said), cleaner, lower profile design, and simpler, more elegant clasp. The dark brown is also very nice and has a lot of character, but in a more "Prof. Indiana Jones" way: classic but more rugged.

Thanks for the thoughts. The chocolate one is from the 40's, so I like how vintage it looks, but it does seem a bit more rugged. The tan one, though a 30's design, is more more modern--60's I think, but it seems more formal to my eye? Maybe I'm sensing what you noticed: rugged vs. clean.

Any others have thoughts about these two briefs?
