I'm not a big fan of pockets on dress shirts. On casual shirts I tend to use them if they're present, throwing in a cell phone or pack of cigarettes. But, that tends to look bulky and play up features I'd rather hide. On my MTM dress shirts there are no pockets (and no rear pockets on MTM trousers). It's slightly less utilitarian, but a nice pair of pants with deep pockets makes up for it.

My office dress code is business casual, so I like OCBDs with pockets. Good as a place to put my work badge. But with a suit, no pocket.

Most of mine are MTM with single button cuffs and a pocket. The reason I get MTM is to get my desired combo of collar shape, cuff, pocket and fabric. I don't care if others feel that combo is too RTW, it's what I want and like for my day-to-day shirts.
