Brandy/Light colored shoes during interviews?

I'm interviewing with a large NY hedge fund on Friday and I'm wondering if it's appropriate to wear my brandy colored AE's to the interview. I'm going to be wearing a dark blue very faintly pinstriped suit, with probably a white or light blue shirt.

I also have a dark brown pair of shoes and a black pair.

I'm sure the question will arise that it depends on the culture of the firm. I really don't know, so I'm going to try to play it safe (it's not Bridgewater and I'm not wearing my sneakers)

Any input would be appreciated.

*Actually if anyone has any experience with OZM, a PM with a heads up would be awesome*.

Thanks,

David.

To an interview, I would wear the darker shoes. Although I think the brandy AE's would be perfect with the suit (you describe) in other instances!

Er, shouldn't this be moved to the clothing forum?

I would definitely wear black shoes. You don't need your first impression to be a foppish one.

Wear black. Focus on other things for this interview.

Some companies have a culture where people are allowed to wear colourful shirts, light pants and lighter coloured shoes. Others do not. It seems you are aware of the cultural side of organisations, so good picking it up. However, if you have not had a chance to see what others wear, play it safe and err on the conservative side... wear the black shoes.

I have pulled off antiqued brown wingtips, but that was for a flashier French company.
