I'm 6' 2" and thin and I find Theory fits me perfectly. Also I prefer a simpler, low key look so I love what they have to offer. What other brands are similar to THEORY that I could look into?

rag & bone, wings + horns, etc, etc.

not really a theory fan; their stuff is boring / overpriced

btw questions that don't merit discussion should go in the 'quick questions' thread

Theory is generally a weak brand, but at least you prefer a nice if boring kind of minimalism. Look into Maison Martin Margiela, Jil Sander, Dries Van Noten, Stephan Schneider.

I appreciate the feedback, thanks. Out of curiosity what brands do you like in a similar price range and with a similar fit?

Theory is nice if you can find it on a deep discount. Off 5th (SAKS) carries the brand. A couple months ago I bought a nice grey unconstructed Theory blazer for $35 out the door. I think the MSRP was marked at around $300 which I would have never come close to paying. I also have a normal navy blazer from them that I like a lot too. Was closer to $100, but I have got plenty of wear out of it. Not the best brand for sure, but you can find some nice items.

I used to buy a lot of Theory on bluefly and the like. Definitely overpriced at retail. They also use a lot of synthetics which I am not a big fan of now. If you are paying retail, you can actually have something made decently for the same price and it will fit better and likely be better fabric. On a deep discount it's ok, but I wouldn't hunt for it.

What are you looking for? Suits, pants, knits, outerwear?

For suits I'd go with something MTM, get it fitted as you like. You can probably find a local tailor by searching the MC forum. Pants, I like Epaulet the best so far.
