I think you are mistaken about the 38" chest measurement given.

A 52/42 leather coat should have a 44-48 inch chest I would think.

Thanks rnoldh. You're right. Just double checked and it is 22" pit to pit. 44" total. 26" from shoulder seam to cuff. The total length of the jacket at 31" is accurate. If you need anything else just ask! Thanks again.
