Howdy,

I'm hoping someone can suggest some brands for the style I typically go for. I have a lot of Hugo Boss gear and that reserved sophisticated look is essentially what I'm going for - but at £100 for a nice shirt or top it's sometimes hard to justify - is there any poor man's alternatives - within reason of course, I don't mind paying some premium for quality?

I quite like the colours and style in All Saints, but it's a bit too far towards the trendy / college style spectrum for me most of the time, I think I've gone past that phase... I do like their plain stuff. Recently Banana Republic has been decent, only problem is their fitting is very "casual" and not the slim fitted style I prefer like from Hugo Boss.

Any suggestions at all are much appreciated!

Consider an MTM shirtmaker - several are sponsors and members here (check out the right hand side of the webpage), and many others exist as well. Visit iin person or send in your best fitting shirt and have them copy the measurements. You'll get the fit and styling you want and full control of fabric and collar and cuff choice. If you find one you like local to you, you can explore your fit and style even more.

Many threads here on custom and MTM shirtings. All of the sponsors here have one or more threads devoted to their work as do other makers.

Enjoy your journey.
