Two questions:

Would you wear braces with a two piece (ie no vest) two button suit?

If yes, would you have the trousers made with buttons only or with buttons and belt loops so you have the option of wearing them with a belt?

It would have to be the right suit and braces for it not to look overly dandyish. No belt loops on braced trousers. Without a vest, it just looks like you forgot your belt.

Brace trouser are cut differently to trousers designed to be worn with a belt.
If I recall correctly from your previous posts , you are losing the battle of the great divide! If this is so, brace trousers should be cut higher in the front and looser in the band to ensure that the suspenders do their job.
I would suggest having one pair made for braces and one pair to be worn belted. After wearing the brace trouser you may feel so much more comfortable that you will henceforth only order brace trousers.
Ideally braces should not be seen therefor you may consider ordering a waistcoat at the same time.

No vest is fine and is often done well. You, and esp. others, will not see the braces when buttoned up or even unbuttoned with a single-breasted, unless it gets windy, and very so. However, wearing braces with a pair of trousers that have loops is a far greater transgression than going vestless and would appear cheap, because even though the braces might not be seen, the loops and evident lack of belt will be, and that does not look good.

Huh? No such thing as overly dandyish. It's a word upon which degree cannot be applied.
But forget all that, because a suit with suspenders does not look dandyish in the least. Where in Christ did you ever come up with that?
Now about my Volvo wagon. There's a luggage rack on top. I seldom carry luggage up there. But even empty, the rack stays. And others on the highway do not point and laugh.

I figure you wear your braces to work at a law firm and thus are wondering if more modern designs or bright colors, when the braces are exposed (ie you remove your jacket), are appropriate?

I'm a criminal trial lawyer and would feel self conscious wearing bright color or flamboyant brace designs to work. The traditional designs or solid dark color braces arouse no attention and thus I would consider wearing them if your wardrobe consists ONLY of 2 piece suits

Once I converted to braces...all of my suit trousers are set up for braces ONLY...and when finances permit for the OP, I suggest he do the same...even if he only commissions 2 piece suits.

I've been debating whether or not to have my next pair of trousers made to take braces as well. I'm getting more and more disappointed with my trousers slipping down at the back all the time.

Although some might say I lean towards flash, I don't think I would ever get a pair of flashy braces. Just the idea of wearing them is off-putting enough, but I like the utility behind them.
