Brace End Color

Am contemplating a pair of Thurston braces in wine. On the web site these come with black ends, but believe Thurstons would customize them if asked. I would typically wear these with brown shoes, although an occasional wearing of black shoes is a possibility. Would mixing brace end and shoe color be terrible? I have read where white ends would be a alternative, but not sure I care for the concept. Thoughts on brace end colors would be appreciated. Thanks, John

I prefer the white ends, especially the handstitched ones. They look better and work better with shoes of different colors.

Since you're concerned enough about the contrasting colors to ask, it seems your braces won't always be covered by your suit jacket, and that your shoes will also be visible (i.e., not hidden by a desk or table). The look will be disjointed. "Terrible"? Maybe not, but if you're going to go through the effort to wear braces, better to leave a positive impression with others. I'm with you on the white ends. I have a few pairs, but rarely wear them, for the same reason (although I'm aware of the conventional wisdom that they match either black or brown shoes, I just ca't pull off the look).

I have a pair with burgundy ends, and they look great with all color shoes.
