I am going to the White House in February with my eight year old son for a formal daytme event. Took him last week to Ralph Lauren and got the suit and shirts, found a good source for boys ties on the net and after much additional searching managed to find a pair of oxford shoes. Problem is that I cannot find an appropriate childrens overcoat anywhere on the net and traditional sources like Brooks Brother, Hickey Freeman and Ralph Lauren do not carry anything suitable. Maybe I need to order direct from the UK but no idea where. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Try contacting Jonathan at FIH Ties (see link on main SF page). I believe that he sells children's clothing. In any case, he is always super-helpful and can probably point you in the right direction.
