Oh sure. You think that one nice comment about Israel in the CE permits your white ass to start using Yiddish.

Calling everything "groupthink," btw, is too easy a way to avoid arguing a point on the merits.

Maybe someone should start a thread on whether SF is dominated by groupthink or not.

Ok Dad hand me down some of those nice shoes you own but no 348's.....

Good point on the group think .............. i argue that i struggle with the 348 and merely comment that the entire forum seems to have a C&J love and on another point a Church dislike and, again, i struggle with that as some Church's like the Sherbourne are abs gorgeous !! What time you home for dinner DAD ????

I'll have to go back & read this whole thread but I'll post while it's on my mind:

I think some (all) of these companies that sell C&J at a lower price than C&J themselves are selling us first rate seconds. The pair I got from Bodiley's should definitely have been seconds because of the sloppy welt stitching at the waist of one of the shoes..

Some of the quality issues that I've seen mentioned would otherwise qualify a shoe as a second. I think we think we are getting firsts because they are not stamped "subs" or the like.

C&J does not give me any love as well - I returned my first and only 2 pairs to Pediwear last December without issue - Cheers.

I have the Belgraves and Weymouth and love them both. Of course their not as nice as EG's or Lobbs, but for $400 and change they are pretty hard to beat when the others are 2-3x more.

On a serious note... when (occasionally

) I state in my listing that I cannot identify the fault...it is because I cannot...even though I have the customers (and my own) best intentions to mind.

Quality control for what arrives in the shop is very good

Graham

Graham, this is the main reason for my concern. If they mark the shoes as "SUBS" looking as good as the ones you offer, why aren't these marked as such? What qualifies these as firsts?
