I found these two,

Int. shipping: "Minimum $25" (?)

http://www.neckties.com/
Int. shipping: Depends. For me: $45

http://www.bowtieclub.com/
Int. shipping: $16

Heard of these?

Any other?

EDIT: Added another one.

J.Press has nice bowties - especially some diamond point ones. No idea what is on their website or what they charge to ship to EU.

Another Euro bowtie fancier here though I've only begun to dip my feet in.

I've bought ties from Carrot & Gibbs (http://www.greatbows.com/store/); postage is very cheap ($5 flat fee, I believe). I'm not too keen on most of their patterns but they have some nice ones here and there. They have a very cool sizing mechanism (not the little metal rings but MOP buttons) although this means that you can't use their standard non-sized bows with a wing collar for evening wear. (I got a black satin bow - which means now I have to build up an informal black tie ensemble around it. Sigh). The tie is fairly thick and losse and I suspect it might get a bit floppy over the course of an evening.

I've also bought from Beau Ties. I paid the $25 postage for three ties - I guess if your order waistcoats and cummerbunds the price may be higher. These bows are great - very crisp and they tie really well and easily. Very fond of these ties and will certainly get more.

Others (I believe AlanC for one) speaks highly of R Hanauer (www.bowties.com). They have some very nice designs but for some reason my credit card was rejected by their system so I can't say anything more.

I know that Alexander Olch does a diamond-end velvet black bowtie, but he's fairly expensive. Does anyone else have recommendations about where I might find one?

Also, I know that traditionally the bowtie matches the fabric of the dinner jacket's lapels, but, tradition aside-- I have a midnight blue, single breast, notch (I know, I know...) jacket with black satin lapels. How do you think it would look to mix this with the aforementioned bowtie? I like the way that velvet looks like a darker black than black silk. Tradition aside, what are your thoughts? I would be wearing this with a white gardenia boutonnière and a white pocket square in a low single point fold.

Thanks,

EI

I should mention that I'm looking for non formal bow ties; striped, dotty, motifs etc.

Thanks for the great advice.

I'm trying to find a e-store based in the EU so I dont have to pay any VAT or customs duty.

If you like the classic self-tie bow ties, then check out:
http://www.tiesoflondon.com/prodtype.asp?PT_ID=3

They have a huge selection of bow ties that are handmade in England. If you like the classic British look then you will find one at their site.

If you are looking for a bargain and a a pretied bow tie then go to:
http://www.ties-necktie.com/bow-ties/

Some of them have a matching pocket square with the bow tie.

Enjoy your shopping!

Yes I've taken delivery of a few bows from these guys. They're great. The real McCoy not just some mass made crap. I also bought a silk cravat from them, queer looking thing but then I'm comfortable with how I look.
