Hi all,

I wanted to purchase a bowtie as a gift for my groomsmen and i am not familiar with the bowtie world. I was looking for english brands such at Church's or Turbull & Asser. They are about 100-125$ a bow tie and i was looking for something abit less expensive but still top quality/classic brand name ( it's a gift)

Is there anything is the middle/high-end range for bow ties that is a staple (60-80$) or should i splurge on the extra for those brands.

Thank you for the help!

Brooks Brothers makes bow ties in your range. Never owned one, but that's my go-to for neckties. Obviously American, not English, but best I can do.

The one thing I'd say is that bow ties are kind of love it or leave it. You could buy me a $500 Hermes model, and to the bottom of a drawer (or eBay) it'd go.

I have a Cordial Churchman bow and it's served me well. They can do custom as well without breaking the bank.

Does anyone have experience with Hackett bow ties? Simply because i am ordering on a website and they have that brand i can package all the order, if not i would order separately from different sites.

Thank you

www.beautiesltd.com makes great ties at a very reasonable price (about $50 usd). You can choose from about 4 different shapes for each pattern and freestyle (tie your own) or the generic pretied like you see in a lot of rental places. I gotta say though - this is a very odd gift. Are you intending to have them wear it for the wedding? If so, is what they are going to wear for the wedding something they will ever use again? I do wear them on occasion, but 10 years ago if someone got me one as a groomsman gift I'd think to myself "when am I ever going to use this again"?

Your friends may be different. They may wear bowties all the time.

+1. It’s a pretty weird gift unless you’re sure your friends are really into bow ties.
But if they are, that’s a great website for them.

i wouldn't say they are into it, more like it's a black tie wedding and not all of them have and i would rather buy it for them than have them get their own. And i rather buy something nice that they can keep for any black tie event they have in the future.
