Bow tie color for black tie wedding

I'm looking for advice on what to wear for an upcoming wedding. My only suit option is navy (Uniqlo +J) as it's the best fitting one I have and, although the wedding is black tie, a tuxedo is not an option right now.

I understand that I should wear a bow tie to the wedding, since that's what black tie entails, and still get away with just wearing the suit. However, my question is, what color bow tie should I wear? I would assume that solid black would not work well with the navy. Any advice?

Well, I can't really afford to buy a new suit just for this wedding.

Rent a tux, or find one on e-bay. Vintage tuxes are often in pristine condition becuase they're worn irregularly.

If you can't even spring for that, black bowtie and white shirt with a turndown collar. With a plain navy suit, you won't be too far off from a midnight blue tux.

You should clarify the dress whether its actual black tie.

Don't be that one guy that stands out for being under dressed...I'm sure you can scrape together 50-80 bucks for a rental.

The answer is in the title of your post. Black tie mean black tie, that is the color you should wear it also refers to wearing a tux as well not a blacck suit as some have suggested. Black tie is a formal thing and a plain black suit just won't do you have to go with a tux. You can try a long tie if you wish as some are doing these days but don't be surprised if you get lost in a sea of bowties.
