Costco's selection varies store to store, so hard to give advice there. What kind of stuff do you like in general?

$300 at BevMo??? Fuuuuuuuuuck....Id be in Heaven. There is one literally 3 blocks from my work right next to the Fresh and Easy. It makes it sooo tempting to get my groceries and a nice 6-er.

Everything depends on your tastes and the long term budget. Will you constantly be stocking the bar? Low end/high end ****? Does this include your barwear and mixers? Whats your drink of choice?

Assuming only $300 youd have to go low/mid range but you'd have a nice little collection Id start with fifths of the basic spirits (assume $20/bottle, more or less):
Vodka
Gin
Light Rum
Spiced Rum
Tequilla
Jack Daniels
Crown Royal

Then add in the specialty liquors:
Vermouth
Triple Sec
Kahlua
Baileys
Couple types of Pucker or something

-Thats about $250

Maybe some bottles of red and white wine for the bitches
Small bottles of Tonic/Soda water/Cranberry/lime juice/tomato juice

That should stock your bar decently. Adjust accordingly if you prefer nice martinis, or other specialty drinks.

Almost forgot.... Wait for the Bevmo 5 cent wine sale. You can get some pretty stuff for cheap.

Oh, and funnel the crappy Kamchatka Vodka into Grey Goose bottles. It got my through college looking like a big-timer.

Do not buy wine at BevMo. BevMo, and I'll take **** for this but so what, is low brow vs. Total Wine.

Now that this is out of the way, check out CostCo for Kirkland bottled liquor. Grey Goose and Macallan, I know come under this label. Other stuff might too, I've just never seen it. CostCo also often has some decent wine and good prices, but that's variable per store and area.

BevMo is the only place around here I can go for out of state wines. Otherwise I'm going to K&L in the city, which I'd much rather do, but is not always practical. BevMo selection on wine is not great, but for what they have, the prices are generally pretty good.

Yep, not great on wine, but better on beer and liquor, but it does depend on which location you go to as they stock differently. BevMo does have Creme de Violette though, so that's a win for that.

^YES. I love that ****. I've only had it maybe twice. My dad doesnt drink at all, but i remember during my college graduation, he had a drink and this was it. It was the only time I had it too. Most places dont know what it is.

I'm also thinking about spending some money and getting a decanter so that I can look more big timer with smalltimer liquor. What are some good vermouth? I kinda want some kina lillet (sp?) too.

Need the Aviation Gin... that's why they make it, which I've also gotten from a Bevmo.
