I have been doing a fair amount of larceny and legent of late. Great value at this point. Only a matter if time before price goes up and that is no longer the case.
Legent is quite good - it could sell for a lot more.

First time posting in this thread. Got into bourbon ~13 months ago. Gonna head to Total Wine and try to pick up Legent and Dickel 15. I’ve been on a Russell’s Reserve Single Barrel kick as of lately. I also enjoyed the Dickels barrel select.

If you like RRSB, have you tried Rare Breed? Every time I drink that next to another (more expensive) bourbon, it at least holds its own. My wife is also into bourbon and we often do blind tastings for the other - Rare Breed has actually beaten out RRSB and Knob 12 on different occasions.

Legent is 100% worth it.

Saw an Elijah Craig 18 at total wine, was the last one. But $150 (When I can get the 12 for $60?). Meh.

That’s actually on my list to try but never pulled trigger on it. That’s funny that you bring up Knob Creek 12 because my gf actually bought me a bottle for Christmas this year and that’s another one I’ve enjoyed as well. I was about to head to Total Wine in the next hour or so and I’ll definitely pick up a bottle of Rare Breed while I’m there. Hopefully they have Legent and the George Dickel 15. I checked online inventory and they’re showing in stock. Based out of Houston, Texas FYI. I typically post in John Elliott threads.

Just tried Legent and Dickel 15 and will say I enjoy the Dickel 15 better than Legent so far. Will try to Rare Breed in a bit and can’t wait to compare it against the Russell’s Single barrel. The Legent has a great nose but of course the Dickel 15 is overall better. From the nose to the taste IMO. Both are good though in their own right. I noticed the Legent has more of a burn than Dickel. I’m excited to try to the Rare Breed. Here’s a picture of my 3 purchases from today and setup.

I'm a rather large fan of the Makers finishing series.
Definitely enjoy them. I was fortunate enough to purchase the 2020 and 2021 version and enjoy them both. To me, the nose on the 2020>2021 but as far taste I’d say there is a slight edge in 2021. For those unable to find these two, I’d definitely recommend a private barrel select. That is up there with these two.

I’m usually pretty skeptical of the new labels that have proliferated lately having been burned a few times by $40 to $50 bottles with great marketing being filled with complete ****. Here was a rare homerun though. Very flavorful and I’d put it up there against any of the Beam small batch that’s for sure. Cost me about $50

Love Clyde May's. Tried it for the first time a few years ago at a whisky bar at the behest of the bartender, and it was just sublime.

Wow. You were right about the Rare Breed. Definitely liking it so far! Wish my gf enjoyed a glass of bourbon with me but such if life. She is staunch beer drinker and I’ve tried to get her to smell my bourbons and pick out different smells and she just says they all smell like gasoline.

That’s a shame. My wife is pretty much wine only, but will smell and taste my other spirits. I really appreciate it because she has a much more sophisticated palate than I do.

I've been raving about the Dickel 15 year old for a few weeks now, so was pleasantly surprised to see my local Total Wines did a store pick of it. Bought a few bottles to put away, as this one is probably the best whiskey I have found in retail stores in five years.
