Are the single barrel BT much better than the usual?

Without a doubt, yes. Although run of the mill Buffalo Trace is always on the shelves here in Texas, I almost never buy it. When I see a barrel pick from a retailer I trust (not everybody is as good at picking barrels as some, so when you find a store who routinely picks solid barrels, you can usually trust them to hit homeruns regardless of distillery), I snap it up.

Speaking of barrel picks, McScrooge’s in Knoxville consistently picks some greats. I grabbed this one last week. Amazing stuff.

After having a grand total of one glass of whisky over the last 18 months, I realized how much I don’t miss it. So I’m now looking to trade some bottles for comparably-valued wine (especially Tuscan and especially especially Masseto). Everything has been stored away from light and at consistent temperatures.

Just looking to trade for now. May consider a sale later.

My community is full of guys who exclusively drink Scotch. Like, you go to a wedding, they have twelve different ~$50-100 bottles of scotch, no bourbon, no rye... maybe some Jameson if you're lucky.

I went to a bachelor party one weekeend, they wanted to get a bunch of scotch, a little bit of beer, and nothing else. I don't even know what they wanted to mix with. We ended up getting a bit of other stuff, but I still had to sip scotch (and tequila, they like the añejo stuff) for a good part of it.

Also bourbon tastes better than scotch.

I hesitate to say anything tastes better than anything else since tastes are very personal. Let's just agree that bourbon is good for people who enjoy the taste of caramel popcorn and scotch is good for people who enjoy licking tires on hot days.

Most of the people say gentlemen don't drink bourbon, only single malt. I drink both, but I had the pleasure for awful bourbon and awful scotch too, as well as for superb scotch and superb bourbon. Here at home or at a party I usually drink scotch, and after a meat or blended with coke I drink bourbon.
