Sampled the '17 Thomas Handy BTAC. For those who are curious -- it has that trademark intensity of flavors opening on the tongue, still the backbone of orange (almost zestlike - orange oil from the peel/skin) but I get a little heat. If you've had the pleasure of tasting the first two years of Handy BTAC you may have the displeasure of forever after tasing Handy for what's *missing* rather than what's there.

G8, is that your forearm? What's the story behind the ink? If you've not posted before, I'm curious (if you have, drop a link). Not a tat man myself, but I admire decisiveness.

And to keep this bourbon related, this weekend I tapped an open bottle (on Wine Preserve) of Hirsch 16. Verdict? It goes very well with handmade fruit tart by some artisanal French baker in Berkely who can still charge SF Bay prices as if we were all IPO winners. I tend to hit the heavy stuff either when I've had nothing to drink or too much - this was the second.

Yeah, that's mine. There used to be a thread somewhere in here about tattoos, and I've posted many of mine there. This one was done at Spider Murphy's in San Rafael many many years ago, and has held up well.

Drove past there just today. Looks like they are open again. Was scared for them with COVID.

they’re a great bunch, one of my favorite shops in the country, and the owner is just an amazing guy with a really cool story

Picked this up on a whim... very nice. Smooth, some caramel, some apple, some vanilla.

This is the one I keep my eye out for, the 2005 season. It’s hard to find now that the 2008 season is everywhere, but this one is my favorite of the two..
