And to keep this bourbon related, this weekend I tapped an open bottle (on Wine Preserve) of Hirsch 16. Verdict? It goes very well with handmade fruit tart by some artisanal French baker in Berkely who can still charge SF Bay prices as if we were all IPO winners. I tend to hit the heavy stuff either when I've had nothing to drink or too much - this was the second.
Nothing like getting a handy for two yearsSampled the '17 Thomas Handy BTAC. For those who are curious -- it has that trademark intensity of flavors opening on the tongue, still the backbone of orange (almost zestlike - orange oil from the peel/skin) but I get a little heat. If you've had the pleasure of tasting the first two years of Handy BTAC you may have the displeasure of forever after tasing Handy for what's *missing* rather than what's there.
