So I found a little place not too far from me that time has seemed to forget. Selection is limited and not everything is a bargain (the Yamazaki 12 is $149) but these 2013 bottlings of the McKenna are a nice deal for sure. That said he also sells Stagg Jr for $50 and ECBP for around $60 and I prefer those so may not stock up.

^ Haven’t actually had it in a while. And he jacked the Jr. from $50 to $60!

Been loving the Four Roses Small Batch Select in that price range, myself.

Looking at that McKenna label it says barreled in 2003 - I’m wondering what others are seeing on bottles. I don't recall what was on my last one but thought it was more recent than that. I haven’t looked into it but with demand up for McKenna is it possible they are bottling barrels older than 10 years? I’m sure a quick search of bourbon forms would answer this ... or that’s just an older bottle of 10.

I’m sure it is just a bottle from 2013 that was on the shelf of this little place in queens that does most of its business off wine, vodka and other hard drinks other than whiskey.

Picked up a bottle of Elijah Craig small batch on the cheap. Coconut and black tea. Very smooth and very interesting.

Awesome stuff.

Man, it sure was. I'll probably have another tonight. Also have a bottle of 16 year old Lock, Stock and Barrel rye that made the move from Philly with me that's been calling out from the liquor cabinet.

I've tried a couple of the MM Select and enjoyed them. One bottle I'm referring to as my "Victory Bourbon" as I bought it on the first day I didn't work at my previous place. Need to keep some to toast the one year anniversary of that.
