Yeah, that’s what I mean. Takes time to age barrels, etc., but since **** got hard to find 8 or 9 years ago, maybe they’re starting the catch up? Good sign if accurate

Yea, I got into bourbon in 2008-ish? At that point Buffalo Trace was a basic $20 bottle and Blanton’s was always on the shelf for $50.

Took a dive into craft beer around 2015-2016 and swung back to bourbon in 2020 to a completely different landscape.

Glad nature is healing and that I’m able to get my hands on some of my old favorites at msrp

It's funny to look back even at this thread, in the early days. Some of the bottles are effectively unicorns now, but very common then. I remember Christmas 2012 buying myself a bottle of PVW 23 year old at the shop down the street from me. It was literally dusty from sitting there so long, and the ~ $299 retail price seemed like a splurge at the time, lol. I am not sure this means an end to the drought of Van Winkle stuff or even the BTAC releases, since that genie is out of the bottle, and anyone with money to spend will pay 2, 3, 5 times retail to impress the finance bros, but at least it appears the middle shelf stuff - Bookers, Eagle Rare, Weller etc. should be at least a little easier to find?

Trying my luck at some barrel aging. Starting off with a $26 bottle of 90 proof Old Bardstown in a 1L barrel.

Nah all the influencers want ****** tequila now lolol

So this isn't welcome news for me. I branched out into tequila once bourbon started getting overheated, and found an affinity for it. Looks like I can look forward to some of my favorites starting to disappear lol

Slowly but surely, formerly hard to find allocated stuff is popping up pretty frequently. Did the distillers finally catch up to demand? Has the bourbon craze peaked?
Which bottles? I’ve been seeing secondary prices drop for sure, but can’t find the good good stuff

So not so much the best of the good stuff, but in the last month, on the shelves (not hidden in the stockroom) I have seen Weller SR, Eagle Rare (twice now in the last 2 weeks), and Booker's (twice in last month). Again, we're not talking Pappy van, or even Eagle Rare 17, but all of those bottles disappeared off the shelves about 7 or 8 years ago, and only recently seemed to have returned. A small victory at least.

Same, I’ve the past 6 months I’ve found Blanton’s, Eagle Rare, EH Taylor, and Weller 12 on the shelves of big box stores in my area at MSRP

Nice- agree on those. Bookers seems easy over here (I see the current and past two releases regularly on shelves). Eagle rare is harder, but possible. I still have never seen any weller on shelves at MSRP.
