I recently bought a pair of Allen Edmonds boots but received the boots in different width (one B and one D). So I contacted the store and told them about the problem. They have been helpful and sent me a new pair before I even have to return the old ones. This time, they sent both boots in the same size and they fit me. I would love to keep them but this new pair doesn't look too good. The 3 problems are: 1) The vamp of both boots are already winkled quite a bit (picture below showing the worse one) 2) The bottom of one boot is quite dirty and have some colour lost. (pictured below) 3) WEIRDEST PART: They polished the boots before they sent it...
Hoping to hear your opinions as to whether this is acceptable or not. Are new shoes supposed to have any of these problems above? Are these boots supposed to be seconds? I just don't understand why polish was put on the boots before they sent them to me. They even gave me the polish that they used to polish the boots... I'm thinking maybe I should just keep the first pair with one in size B and the other in size D. The first ones is pretty much perfect other than being in two different sizes. D is the right width for me so maybe I'll just buy a shoe stretcher to stretch the smaller one out? Should I bother or just return them both?
