I went into the local Fluevog store in Vancouver, they had a nice atmosphere and the people who worked there were great. They weren't pushy, just asked how I was when I walked in, didn't bother me until I was looking at a shoe and when I turned around to ask a question one of them was quickly there to help me. First shoe I tried on was the limited edition George Cox Romantic Ducky, it didn't fit quite right, and they didn't seem to have any true 10s (had shoes that were labeled 9 on the shoe and 10 by Fluevog, they were 9s, so it was 8, 9, 11 that they had, disappointing as 10s might have fit), he tried breaking them in a bit with a device with a ball and ring that I haven't seen before, thought it was cool that he was doing that on a pair of shoes I hadn't bought or committed to buying yet. I tried a bunch of other shoes, eventually settled on the Angelic Chelseas in Burgundy. They're a little hard to get off, but they're the most comfortable shoes I've ever put on. Still going to get them checked by my physiotherapist, but I figure they'll be ok. I don't have a good camera, so no pictures, but they look really good on feet (not so good in the pictures on the website). I didn't like the ankle high boot with elastic look until trying them on.

I got a pair of these off of ebay a few weeks ago. The sole is incredibly soft. It surprised me at first. They are very comfortable so far, but a bit more chunky than i'm used to. They are perfect for cold Canadian winters though.

Not that I know of. I haven't had any trouble getting wet walking through 6 inch deep snow though. The ebay auction didn't give me many details like that, sorry.

If you're worried about whether the elastic parts are waterproof, it's time to forget about style and pull on your rubber boots!

Impracticality?! If the water's that high (and you said "waterproof" not "water resistant") you should start looking for a stylish boat.

Occasionally there are deep puddles.

They're turning out to not be as comfortable as they originally felt. The top part of the boot is still great, but walking around for a couple hours in something with no arch support to speak of isn't great on the feet. I'm going to be hunting for insoles now.
