I stopped by The Garment District today, (Kendall Sq. Cambridge) and made a killing. Apparently sometime early this past week a lot of new stock was put on the shelves. Brooks Brothers shirts (too blousy for me) and ties abound, the latter all priced at $5. Most are printed, equestrian and novelty stuff, but there are some good classics to be had, white-and black houndstooth and herringbone. Pindots too, of which I partook eagerly. I think all were 3" in width. There are also a number of Ferragamo ties, though these are priced more around $15. About the same, printed horses. Anyway, take advantage!

personally I'm not a huge fan of the Garment District anymore, I have literally been going there since I was an infant being dragged by my grandmother through the dollar-a-pound piles, but now, 20 years later I find most of the stuff tacky/hipstery (not referring to the costume section either) and the things that I would actually wear overpriced (with the exception of their annual half off weekend, which you were referring to when they clear out the entire store for new inventory) and usually no better than the finds I score at local thrifts for about 1/3 of the Districts prices.

But to each his own, and I'll probably ending up poking my head in anyway, because it certainly sounds like your got a decent deal.
