Borrelli vs. Brioni vs. Barba - Fit

are the shoulders generally wider too? My Isaia shoulders are 18” while all others are about 17”. Same with Kiton it appears it’s about an inch wider than Barba, Charvet etc.

They’re actually cut tighter than all in my experience.

I received my Barba shirt today. I must say I’m not all that impressed with the fit or the fabric. Fabric feels like plastic. It’s see thru and doesn’t iron easy. Collar stays are really thin and flimsy. $20 CK shirt comes with better collar stays than this.
Bottoms are nice and thick but that’s about it. Construction appears to be better than Eton but it’s nothing like my Isaia. For a little bit more I’d say Isaia is a much better buy. For the money I prefer Eton over Barba. They can be had much cheaper on sale and I like the Eton collars better.

As far as I know they have different lines of quality and apparently those differ quite noticably. I have two different shirts that I would rate exceptionally good with excellent fabric and great construction. One is of their gold line with a real lot of handwork - that is not necessary at all, but nice to look at - the other one is labelled differently similarly, but not black, like yours. That latter shirt may not have handmade details but is excellent overall with a very stury cotton fabric. It is at least 5 years old and still as good as new.

Have they let down quality recently or did I just get lucky?

The fabric is really stiff but light and see thru at the same time. feels more like polyester than cotton. maybe after a few more washes it gets softer. I'm not crazy for the collar either. it's really stiff again.
I received another Isaia shirt today and the difference is night and day.
