Just spent a nice day wandering some of the high end stores in San Francisco -- Bloomingdales, Loro Piana, Ghurka, Borrelli, and Louis Vitton. I had the best times at Ghurka and Borrelli with Borrelli being the best experience.

The sales manager, Horace, was very knowledgeable and extremely helpful in discussing with me the finer points of their clothing. He imparted that there was a sale occurring for the next 21 days until their Spring collection arrives.

I highly recommend visiting the store!

P.S -- In case anyone is looking for a tailor, Borrelli uses Franz Custom Tailors on Geary for all their tailoring.

I have spent a lot of time at the Borrelli store and I agree that Horace, Clay and their colleagues are fantastic. They have an awesome product, with great service.

If I may ask, what have you purchased there? How have the they held up? I am tempted to purchase a khaki colored overcoat (they refer to it as a peacoat) so am interested in alterations and longevity as it would be my first "high-end" purchase. It's amazing how great customer service translates into a potential purchase...

Thanks for the post phooi. What exactly is on sale? Did the sale just start? I will have to go by there next week.

According to Horace, about 80% of the store was on sale and will continue for the next 21 days. If you're interested in something specific, I'd give them a call. My guess is that they are moving all of the F/W collection to make way for S/S. Love to hear what you end up with!

Thanks for the info phooi. I'd be interested in knowing how much their sportcoats might be on sale.

I have bought many dress shirts and a pair of grey dress trousers recently. I have been very happy with the finish and the alterations on the pants were done to my satisfaction. The pants were a first for me from their store and they fit and feel great. Their dress shirts have the best fit of all the Borrelli dress shirts I have bought from other stores. They have the slimmest cut of all. Seems like you are local to the area, and I'd like to share that the Borrelli shirts from Neimans are slightly fuller in cut, and the ones at Wilkes are more fuller than the Neiman shirts. I did get 2 Borrelli shirts from Wilkes from their recent sale, that I plan to sell on the forum.
Everything at the store is 30% off, their sport coats are too. The other point worth noting is that the Borrelli SF store also has a 15 3/4 shirt size that is difficult to find. The only other place I have found that size is with Ian at Shop the finest.
Hope this helps, if you have any other questions please do not hesitate to ask. If I might suggest, it might be nice to do a small get together with some of the local SF members and then possibly have folks from Borrelli etc join us for drinks. I would be glad to put this together if there is interest.
Final note for the local SF folks Neimans is going to start their final Last Call sale from this Tuesday 1/9/07, where some of their Borrelli's depending on your shirt size will be below the $200 price point.

Where in SF is the Borrelli store. Also who carries Attolini in SF?

Same street as Niemans, a block or so down the hill towards Market Street.

No Attolini.

I'm not surprised to hear good feedback - Horace is a good guy and really knows his stuff. I expected the store to do well with him there.
