Is it a dress shirt or something more casual like a button down? I have a button down from Ian with a thick button too (I also have two button downs with thin buttons). However, all my dress versions have thin top button and I think they all say Luigi Borrelli in the button. I should have been clearer. Nonetheless, casual or dress, every borrelli i've seen or have has crows foot stitching on the buttons. He also doesn't show fancy re-inforced gussets and the Borrelli emblem/label at the bottom.

I'd steer clear of the dude

I open a dispute with PayPal, stating that I sent the guy his goods upon his request to his supplied address, and that he hasn't sent back my money. They rule in his favor saying my tracking # is invalid. It isn't - it showed the item being delivered to Italy in November. I had to fax them (last week) a copy of the shipping slip and all. So it's taken approximately 2 months for nothing to happen with most of the actual work taking place on my behalf.

**** PayPal and **** this SALVIO_S guy.

I hear a lot of nasty things about PayPal it is one of the reasons I reduced my commitment to them by removing my bank account #. But I had one experience with a deceptive ebay seller which PayPal took care of for me in about a week and a half. I got all my money back + shipping I could hardly believe it.

They're MTM dress shirts. One has a double-button collar, and the topmost button is just as thick, but smaller in diameter. They all have "Luigi Borrelli" printed on them. Perhaps Ian's stock was older, and Borrelli switched over at some point?

Before this guy's Ebay store is completely trashed, I hope everyone is taking a look at this guy's site to confirm your own opinion. I don't see anything that indicates that his Borrelli items are anything but authentic. The shirts have handmade buttonholes, buttons are think MOP, and the buttons are sewn on via the crow's feet stitch pattern. Also, as has been said, not all Borrellis come with the narrow top button. The labels all certainly look real too. The one and only thing I see that raises any question is a sweater that doesn't have a matching color pull to pull up the zipper. But hey, Borrelli makes a very wide array of garments (like multi-colored nylon vests without any hand-stitching), perhaps they don't put pulls on some sweaters....

Here's the guy's Ebay store.

I have bought 2 "Borrelli" shirts from him early in 2006. Both are great shirts, high armholes, chickenfoot stitching on the buttons, super fabric.

However neither had the white gusset that seems to be de rigueur for Borrelli.

So I am still uncertain as to whether they are real Borrellis or not.

I stand corrected. One of my shirts bought from Ian D indeed has a thinner collar button

The size 15.5 shirts are all fake so stay away. The others however look authentic.

If I may throw my own personal interest in the hat.. I say boycott him simply because he knowingly has (tried, maybe..) screwed me out 300 bucks and my SF brethren should stand beside me!

Looks real to me. He doesn't show the label on the bottom of the shirt behind the placard. but i can see the stitching.

The Borrelli shirts look authentic to me. A lot of them seem to be made for a "private label"; i.e., Luigi Borrelli for Bennys. This may explain the variation in some detail, such as gussets and thin/thick top button.

I don't care about this guy and I would not buy from him if only because of Kronik's story but the 15.5 Borrelli's that I saw from him are not fake. If he has found a cheap way to do hand stitched yokes, button holes, buttons and seemingly the collar (although the pic is not clear enough) then this guy is the counterfeiter of all counterfeiters. The richness of the fabrics is also obvious in the pics. Keep in mind that Borrelli makes garments for a variety of stores and markets.

given I am bidding on a couple of the 15.5s, That said, I won't buy in solidarity with kronik (and I really don't need any).
