i can get these for $70 but the kilt thing on the front is kinda of bothering me. thoughts?

Often, you can remove that decorative leather thing as it's just held in by the laces.

Get them only if you really like them, don't let the price be the deciding factor. As for me, I don't like them, and that goes for almost all JV boots that I've seen thus far.
