After few hours of scanning posts on here and reading through the RM Williams thread, I am now going for Craftsman. I hope I can pick up a pair in Bond Street tomorrow.

Cheers

I don't hesitate to wear a pair of my cowboy boots with a nice suit. A pair of high-quality leather boots go well with a nice suit. Just be sure to wear nice, 'dress' boots from one of the better makers such as Lucchese (the Classics line), Stewart, Littles Boots, etc. Or have a nice pair of custom-made boots just for you from one of the traditional makers such as Tres Outlaws, Old Gringo, Champion Attitude Boots, Black Jack, T.O. Stanley, etc.

All of the makes I mention produce hand-made boots using nothing but top quality leathers. The boots are all-leather construction. No plastic, foam, rubber, etc. is used in the construction of these boots.

For goodness sakes, don't wear any of the current boots being made by Justin, Tony Lama, or Nocona with your suits. All of the boots being produced by these three makers are cheap and machine-made in China. Now, if you want to buy a pair of boots from these "Big Three", look for some of the 'vintage' boots made from the 1980's and earlier. That was back when the Big Three hand-made all of their boots and used nothing but leather.

I'm somewhat of a "Cowboy Boot Aficianado", so drop me a line if you have any questions. Jus!

12 or so years on, 'boots with suit' is standard attire for me

What I'm worried about now is whether I can still order RM Williams Craftsman with custom brass screwed sole, as I'm reading that they have scaled back their MTO service

Balmoral boots go perfectly with suits, but these days, who really cares about "rules."

Clearly in the minority here, but don't like the look. To my eye either boots or sneakers matched with a suit present a clashing aesthetic. There can be exceptions of course, but in general, no.
