boots revisited

i need two questions answered. one, which do you like the best? second, which will be the most durable and about how long would you expect each of these to last?

#1 and #3 are the same.

I'd say number 1.

How long will it last? I'd guess about as long as a decently made shoe. But really, it's a fashion boot, I'd expect it to look out of fashion before it actually wears out.

Actually, #1 is black and #3 is brown.

I like #3. I'm not sure about that stitching on a black slip-on.

I'd go with 1, then 3, then 2.

As far as durability, I've had a similar pair of Varvatos boots for two seasons and probably worn them 20 times or so and they look the same as when I purchased them. If you're talking about durability in foul weather when worn every day, they'll likely last fairly well, they're sort of distressed so they'll just get a bit more distressed, its not like they're patent leather or anything. I think durability will be fairly similar with all of those boots.

I'll take #2. They're distressed enough that you don't have to worry about them when going to grimy bars. Besides, I think distressed boots look better with old worn jeans (whether you buy them distressed or wear them until they're distressed is another debate

). There are some nice Varvatos boots on eBay if you don't want to pay full retail. Funny, I just ordered the #2 today.

From what I know of Varvatos shoes, they're made extremely well for a "fashion label."

Now I need to find a decent pair in black.

Some cordovan Alden boots 11 1/2. Not too similar to what you've posted dhinggok, but far superior in aesthetic appeal IMO. No reserve too--damn I wish my feet were bigger.

thank you to you all. my incessant questioning regarding shoes will end for a brief, brief time. i am looking into picking up a pair of chelseas pretty soon. just so you know, i bought a pair of black grandfather ankle boots from john varvatos and bluefly today. i am very happy with the purchase. thanks again for the help.
