Well, obviously there are different versions of goiser, and the construction, you have mentioned. The technique, what we (Austrian, German and Hungarian and I believe plenty more countries) call goiser came from goisernbad, where a local shoemaker didn't find his hiking boots strong enough. Maybe the same happened with some Norwegian in the storm?
