Boots for a lady friend

I have a lady friend who is looking for a pair of simple, well-made boots. Not high-heeled, riding boot height or slightly lower, good quality leather, preferably zipperless, rounded-to-pointed toe, and free of adornment (except maybe a strap at the upper calf or something).

Where can these be found? I feel like I see women wearing them all the time, but when one goes to the stores (Barney's, Neiman's, Bergdorf's,...) everything looks like something Kim Kardashian would wear.

Golden Goose seems to make the boots which fit this description best, but they're $1000 and have glued rubber soles. I can't believe that all the women I see are paying $1K for their boots, and I know the $1K is not worth it. My lady friend has two pairs of incredible suede boots from N.D.C. which are goodyear welted which were each <$500, so I know quality can be had if we look in the right places...

Crockett and Jones have a line dedicated to women. They have some very very beautiful "chelseas" too. They got the Jodhpur. They have a nice lace-up boot. You are looking for something like this?

Thanks, guys.

One note: she's in her mid-20s, so is looking for something relatively "hip". Does Gravati have things which fit the bill here?

Don't know that C&Js will do the trick..though I would get a pair of Jodhpurs for myself!

Scroll to "Haddon" in the C&J Mail Order Catalogue is a picture of the Haddon in Burgundy. I think it is a great shoe for a Lady...even if in her 20ies. She may not be THAT kind of Lady, though

. There is also the female Jodhpur which is very nice.

The female Jodphur is not hip - but looks very elegant and can be combined with very modern garments (and jeans). No problem for a woman in her 20ies if combined with taste....

My 2 cents
