Hi all

Currently trying to choose between the Loake Bedal tan boots Vs Oliver Sweeney Millbrook tan. Any ideas which pair would be the better made / last longer etc.

Am I missing any other brand for broge boots with a £200-£250 budget?

As an aside, what type of trouser / jeans would look best with said boots once they have been acquired?

Desperately trying to up my game from my usual baggy jeans and running trainers attire.

Many thanks

I don't know Oliver Sweeney, but suppose someone else makes it for them (might even be Loake or the made in India Loake's).

Loake is a recommendable brand, especially at that price point. Your other best bet would probably be Barker, but I've had a few minor issues with Barker (hence I currently have none) and the pairs of Loake were always great and being worn in regular rotation.

If you like this style of boot, my recommendation would also be Loake (Tricker's Stow are twice the price, but take a look at the https://trickersfactoryshop.com/. An additional 20% sale just ended sunday, but if you're into odd colors, you may get a pair of Tricker's at the price of a pair of Loake's). Other options would be Cheaney (also more expensive) or keep an eye on Vinted. This is where I got most of my footwear new or worn once or twice for half the price.

I could recommend some other brands at similar price points (e.g. Carlos Santos, Sanders & Sanders) but they don't offer a nice country brogue I think.

Loake is one of the brands that I like and often buy the most. In addition to the quality, I am also very satisfied with their consulting and customer care services.
