Am chasing some boots for winter- trying to decide between the Trickers Malton

or the Crockett and Jones Skye

i am leaning towards the C&Js because i have had good luck with fittings on their other shoes, however Trickers seem highly praised around these parts for their boots.

Thoughts?

Will be mainly wearing with cuffed flannel pants and jeans.

I am not a fan of the Malton in general. The C&J looks fairly sleek for a boot. How much will it cost you? btw, I posted a link in the Tricker's forum for a Malton boot that is 20% off

not sure on cost at this stage - its not a contributing factor towards my decision making, although i assume the C&J will be a bit more

They are totally different shapes.

CJ is based on their bluchers, and in a pinch can be worn with a suit.

Trickers, I would never wear with a suit. Its pretty round, thick, and chunky.

Workmanship is similar, perhaps the edge going to CJ. I know for a fact that the leather on the Malton you have pictured is tough and thick, but not very rich looking in real life.

CJ is significantly more expensive.

If you know the CJ last fits well and cost doesn't matter I would definitely go CJ.

That said, I own 2 pairs of Trickers (have owned 3 others in the past), and have never had a Skye

I like the color on the C&J too. Is it on the same last as the Darlton? I ask because this boot looks like the Darlton, minus the cordo

Skye is on the 335 last.
Darlton is the 325.
No idea how the 335 fits.
