Yes sir, that’s exactly my point. They’re a touch more expensive (by about $50-100), but these feel a little more refined in finish than the Alden tanker I have. The sleeker last is definitely dressier than the my Barrie tanker. My only problem is I now want more!

I have used Sno-Seal. I agree with @audog , it does a great job of waterproofing.
But I prefer Obenauf’s LP. My understanding, and experience, has been that Sno-Seal is petroleum based. Obehauf’s LP is based on beeswax. It has a more pleasant odor. Both work great for waterproofing leather, especially rough out leather, which is what I generally use it on. As mentioned, heating the leather gently with a hairdryer helps improve penetration of the product.
Be aware that it will flatten the nap and darken the leather.

Sno Seal does the same thing, makes light boots dark, and dark boots darker, in addition to waterproofing. Best for rough out leather as @SonnyUte has said.
