Considering pressing the buy button, thoughts? They are on sale and went down from €300 to €200.

Brand: MAGNANNI.

I would avoid Magnanni, sub-par quality and mostly blake stitched. In that price segment you'd better go for Carlos Santos. Way more bang for your buck.

Just like the quote says in your signature actually ;)

I heard mixed reviews about Magnanni and the price was tempting to be honest but I agree with you! Better go for a quality goodyear welted pair.

Have you tried Meermin before? Their offerings are pretty cheap at the moment so I'm skeptical but I'm only hearing good stuff about them!

Avoid Meermin is my opinion. I owned several pairs, and sold them all due to lots of break-in pain and stiff leather and heel stiffener issues. Also, there are lots of quality complains, check out the meermin thread.

If you are looking for not too expensive quality shoes take a look at (especially during sales): Carlos Santos (a fine pair of shoes, Skoaktiebolaget), Yanko (Skolyx, Patine.pl), Cheaney (Herring, Ebay where you can find interesting sample shoes) or even Crockett and Jones which go for 60% off at some Dutch retailers a few times a year (Dungelmann for instance).
