How do you find the shearling liner? Is it worthwhile?
I personally really like shearling lined boots, I have several pairs.

OK boot guys, I'm returning to laced boots after getting rid of a pair because I found the dainite sole too hard. (Chukka and LL Bean hunting boots don't count, I wear them every year).

  1. I find it very hard to strike the right balance between tight lacing (where it feels like circulation to calf is threatened), and loose (where front of foot slides around). How common is this experience for you all?
  2. Leather in the back shaft digs into the hollow of my heel (or back ankle, or whatever the scientific term is), when shoe is at its maximum bend. How normal is this?
Mainly, is the fact I'm experiencing both of the above indicative I got a bad fit? I've been breaking them in for roughly a month, wearing them just about every chance I got. Thanks!

So I bought a pair of Oak Street during their Black Friday promotion. The pair fit well. The leather appears to me a little dry but maybe that’s standard for this cowhide. Pull-up is great though and tons of character My main issue is QC related with some speedhooks having washer backings and others not. The sharp backside of the speedhooks that are missing a washer just scratched the living snot out of the tongue after just two wears.

I wrote the customer service department but it’s radio silence. I’ll have my cobbler take a peak.
