Thanks, I used to own Whiskey Harlech’s many years ago and sold it! Regret that and would like to add it back as well. Unfortunately C&J UK mail & order is permanently closed and they now don’t want to sell the shoes without VAT deduction anymore and routed me to online store or the NY store where the prices are around 20%-30% more.
Yep, I don't want to pay the current price either

Yes! Exactly why I stopped buying C&J as well. Direct anyway.

Agree - I live in the U.S. and I won't buy from the C&J U.S. store. I buy from UK stockists and have it shipped here - Currently ordered a pair of Tan scotch grain Conistons $580 from The Noble Shoe instead of $725 from C&J NY.

Greetings everyone, first post on this thread. Came to know of this thread following @Genericuser1 's comparison of Trickers and Carlos Santos. Good to know of a thread not limited by a single manufacturer.

Grant Stone Ottawas in Black CXL today.

Well guys, I decided to take a chance with trying some Thursday Captains, delivered to me in Europe which took around 9 days and cost an additional $35 in fees for a total of $250 including shipping. I received them today and tried them on and what I notice from the first half an hour is that they are, as many reviews have said, immediately very comfortable. Most importantly of all, the size US11 is pretty much a perfect fit for my UK10.5-11 feet, with a little room to spare on my longer left foot and adequate little toe space for my wider right foot which is sadly very vulnerable to pressure pain. Also, the height of the shoe seems perfect, with a little wiggle room and no pressing and it will easily accommodate a thicker sock. This was a big concern when I ordered so is now a big relief. I have a pair of C&J Harlechs incoming and am still worried about how they will fit as I think they may be narrower than these boots.

Construction seems very decent and solid with only a negligible loose stitching thread which I will burn off later. The leather seems soft enough to me with no undue pressure when my foot bends although the ankle area definitely needs to soften to be fully comfortable. I imagine after a few wears things will improve in all areas.

The colour is a really nice deep reddish brown, burgundy-esque, and is exactly what I was hoping for. The welting has some lighter contrast, but not too much, which is also nice. Profile is somewhere between slim and chunky, a nice mix of casual touching on smart.

I will give them a week of constant wear and if they prove to be as comfortable and as durable as they look and feel then I will go ahead and order the Diplomat Moctoe that I had my eye on and maybe another style of boot. The boot styles all supposedly fit more or less the same so I now have great confidence that it's not going to be a crap shoot when ordering. In summary: initial impressions are very positive and I will see how things progress over the next days! :)

EDIT - There is however an unpleasant smell from whatever leather protector they applied prior to shipping. I hope it fades soon!

These will break in nicely. I have a pair that I bought ~2.5 years back and they've become my go-to shoe during the fall/winter.
