Thought I'd ask this here with all you boot lovers, does anyone know what style of boot these are? The maker, KNAR (https://knar.com.vn/product/jormungand-i/) calls them "jormungand" but a quick google search came up empty. Far as i can tell they're most similar to hiking boots. Anyway, any information on this style and recommendations on similar stuff is much appreciated!
In Red Wing lingo they are historically called lineman and it is said the lace to toe design is to fit the shoes tightly on the foot so the electricity linemen have a safer footing.
But indeed most refer them to monkey boots.

ORIGINAL MONKEY BOOTS

"Monkey boots were originally worn by the Czechoslovakian Army in World War 2. These amazing lightweight boots allowed infantry to move swiftly and easily, the high lace up meant that the boots wrapped around the soldiers foot and provided security around the ankle. The thick tread soles provided grip regardless of the terrain and lasted for absolutely ages. Leather uppers allowed the soldiers feet to breathe easily whilst simultaneously having natural water resisting properties. A traditional monkey boot will come with 7 eyelets.

Monkey boots crept in to the United Kingdom in the 70's and 80's and it was the MOD culture that made them into a fashion statement. Monkey boots accompanied the rise of punk and mod culture, adapting perfectly to festival or dance floor. Because of the durability of the monkey boot it became a staple among workmen which helped to progress its appeal to a mass market."

"The punks adopted them in the late 70s and students have for forty years opted for their cheap chic. They are no longer worn by either the Czech or the Slovak armies but are still produced and sold by a company called Tuk. They are very popular with retro skinhead and goth groups in the USA and although never as popular as the DM, when worn with Levis and a Harrington jacket they have an incomparable and timeless street style – all for about £30."

Cross Post from Vass.

They introduced Budapester boots on Viberg in July. I ordered day one in a color change to Bordeaux.

Arrived yesterday.

Not 100% sure how these fit into my wardrobe. Probably mostly with denim. 20211013_135148.jpg

Denim and heavyweight trousers ?

Can only really wear heavyweight trousers in late autumn and winter (in Los Angeles), but agreed.

I usually take Conistons when traveling in Europe or Japan for day time walking, might try these.
