Cross post with the Cheaney thread:

I own a pair of Herring Churchstow boots made by Carlos Santos on their 234 last and I would like to compare it in terms of fitting and sizing with Cheaney 4426 last, used by the Pennine II boots.

I had to downsize from 6.5 to 6 UK with the 234 last to have a good fit as I have narrow and low instep feet, I did the same with my Herring Kirkdale by Cheaney, built with the 175 last. I wonder if I would have to go the same route with the Pennine II.

Haven’t tried a Pennine yet but would imagine it’s sizing would be generous with it being a heavy duty country boot. Half a size down sounds a reasonable assumption given that you had to with another Cheaney made model.

After a hard days wear in the rain these Oxblood Ron Rider Horse front Jodhpur’s, (that I also have in natural, and mis-identified as horse butt in an earlier post), are none the worse for wear.

Anyone tried Barbanera more rocker type of boots? They’re probably Blake stitch rather than GW?

wonder how tight the toe box is

I just received a lightly used pair of the black waxed suede Cash boots. I went up a half size tan my normal,as suggested by the manufacturer. Not easy to get on, surprising for a side zip, but they fit beautifully. I proceeded to walk around New Orleans all day in them, which was a risk. It worked out. Comfortable, the cuban heel didn't mess with my stride, and the looked great. The extended shaft kept my pants from getting stuck on the top edge like my Chelsea's. No blisters or discomfort t speak of. I love these things so far. Very happy with my purchase. Give them a shot, if the style is to your taste.
