These were a last pair sale from Epaulet a couple years back. Cocgnac shell and tan grain.

No offense taken, no worries. However I thought the Ludlow shoes/boots were of very decent quality, at least on par with Meermin, no? (I realize that Meermin is on the low end of the boots mentioned here, but they are mentioned here from time to time)

    Cross posting from GentlemensFootwear.com thread:

Hello folks, I had an offline conversation with Steve about getting a suede boot for the fall. I want to check in here for interest in doing something. Let me know if there is any interest in the following (Carmina) or feel free to propose a makeup you would like to see.

    - Polo (or snuff) wingtip boot, dainite or commando
    - Polo captoe, dainite or commando
    - chocolate tanker

    Cheers!

I like Carmina, too, and have a handful of pairs---but they are well above the stated price range, so...
This makes no sense to me. Maintenance of shell is easier than calf, and BOTH show rain spots. If you don't like the appearance (or extra cost) of shell, sure. But the other reasons are suspect in my opinion.

I shall agree to disagree :) Or at least clarify maintenance/appearance. To get shell looking like how I would like it to look is (was) a huge pain in the ass for me (daily brushing for quite a long time), whereas calf was easier. It was also easier for me to remove the rain spots on calf. If you don't want to brush it daily to get rid of whatever scuffs/marks accumulate, that's fine if that's your thing. Not my thing.

I would have been better of with a UK 9 here, early lesson learned in Carmina sizing, hence they are barely.worn.

    Hey guys,

So I went to C&J but unfortunately, the model I wanted is not sold in the UK, it's sold in France and Japan for some reason...

Anyway, I have been looking and looking and wasn't able to find something that suits the style I'm looking for.

I came across these online: http://www.ortodoux.com/store/collaboration-series/pureblood-series/pureblood-lestat

I'm not familiar with the brand, but they seem to be pretty well made.

    Anyone heard of these?
