Thanks guys. For some reason I thought that exposed metal eyelets might be a no-no with a suit. Is that completely not the case? Do the eyelets need to be be black or would it be ok even if they were the same color as in the picture here?

There is no "rule" IMO, regarding eyelets and appropriate pairing with a suit. Given that you are dealing with a single medium bal boot, I think you can do whatever you want with the eyelets short of neon.I wear the boots below with a suit and not only do they have exposed eyelets, but .... GASP ... SPEED HOOKS!!!! Apologies to any i-gents whose heads may have exploded. ;-)
