Does anyone have experience in comparison of three kinds of boots:
laced
elastic sides (Chelsea)
strap (Jodhpur)

and would be so kind to express preference and why?

Thank you

I own various boots of all 3 kinds. I prefer laced ones because of the fit adjustment. Chelseas are also a favorite of mine, but more for casual wear or when I'm too lazy to lace up ;)

I like the Jodhpur look but find the strapping and unstrapping them annoying (just like with monk shoes) so I'm not wearing them very often.

hi @Pascal1980
the (now discontinued) galways of c&j are moc toe or „indy“ boots, the galways of edward green are cap toe boots.
if you are looking for captoe boots from c&j, go for coniston, harlech or handgrade perth.
Thanks ha er,

I am eyeing for the "Perth", which is very expensive, yet looks stylish for winter with flanel trousers and/or a suit, or even casual with jeans.

Harlech is in cordovan only, I guess?

Thanks and best regards

Pascal

hi @Pascal1980
at the moment I see the harlechs only in shell at c&j´s. maybe there are some retailers doing mto in differing leather, risk a look at swartjes, fullham, bodiley´s, new & lingwood and others.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
