None right now but keep an eye on Lof & Tung at Skoaktiebolaget. They've had some suede chukkas in the past.

x-post from the Desert/Chukka Boots thread

I am looking for a dark brown, grained (hatch grained, pebble grained, etc.) chukka boot. I am avoiding Alden because they have steel shanks and I'll have to take them off for airport security. The only other ones that I can find are the Brecons from Crockett & Jones. However, I'm not a fan of Dainite soles. Any alternatives to consider that don't have steel shanks or Dainite soles?

I might have to end up going for MTO via BlkBrd.

Now that's good reasoning for why one might go an MTO route.

Hmm, something that bothers me extremely too, but what is the alternative? Wood? Maybe I'm wrong, but feel that wood could be more fragile.

I just exchanged messages with Sandeep at BlkBrd. They can replace the steel with leather.
Tricker’s are all made with wooden shanks but mine still trigger airport security. The guy showed me the x-ray image and there were about 30 nails visible.
