Hampton boots from Bodileys, magnificent boot. The two materials tones down the combat boot look (due to the sole) and shows a very smart and practical boot. Unusual "tongue anchor" and pull loop that works very well. The 130 last is very comfortable.

Bodiley's service excellent as always. A side by side picture with a C&J Coniston.

Sole: Commando Ithside
Last: 130 (feels similar to C&J 365)

Its more browner than it looks in those bodileys photos. ..... I thought this was a Trickers produced boot.

A nice and versatile colour, pretty underrated and underused in footwear.
Thanks @DorianGreen, agree the slate is a very easy colour to pair with denim and range of black, navy, cream etc trousers. I have slate and dark brown suede Chelsea boots and the slate tends to get the most wear out of the two (although I like both). Saying that, the last time I was in the C&J store on Jermyn St, the assistant was describing to me how different colour leathers/suedes can suit the wearer better or less depending on your hair colour, skin tone etc.. According to my 3 year old I have ‘grey hair’ (I’m close to 40) so no wonder Slate suits me😁

I agree it needs to age to reach its aesthetic potential.

More people should include dogs in their photos though so kudos for that.

Getting that patina is the goal. It is pretty light, so not the easiest to wear at the moment. But the journey is the point I guess.

I never get any complaints about the dog. The good thing is that everything goes with black.
